World Book Day - free book
World Book Day takes place on 1st March and is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind and is marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
Your child’s primary school, plus some nurseries and secondary schools will be holding World Book day events and activities for your children to get involved in. What’s more, your child will be given a voucher that can be exchanged for one of eight exclusive books at their local bookseller – absolutely free. Or, if they’d rather, they can use it to get £1 off certain books or audio books at participating bookshops; terms and conditions apply.
Here are the eight books that your child can choose from. Click on the pictures to find out more:

How can you get involved?
Why not ask your child what their school is doing for Word Book Day. Their school might be holding author readings, getting children to dress up as their favourite book character or holding a read-in. You could look at the list of books with your child and chat about which book they would like, then visit a bookstore and buy it together.
