Celebrate 100 years of Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl’s birthday is on 13 September and 2016 marks 100 years since the much-loved children’s author and storyteller was born.

There are lots of ways you can celebrate, which will encourage your child to read, learn and enjoy Roald Dahl’s magical words and work.

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
The Roald Dahl museum in Buckinghamshire offers a history of the magnificent author and much more. Aimed at 6 to 12 year olds, the museum features three interactive galleries, which encourage learning through exploration and play. Find out more and book workshops.

Roald Dahl’s Tremendous Adventures at Tatton Park
Tatton Park in Cheshire is hosting a magical year-long programme of events to mark 100 years of Roald Dahl. The celebrations include themed Roald Dahl character trails, outdoor theatre, cinema showings and a birthday picnic. Find out more.

The City of the Unexpected
As the birth place of Roald Dahl, Wales will be celebrating in style! On 17 and 18 September, Cardiff city centre will be transformed into the “City of the Unexpected” – an epic weekend of events involving thousands of performers and jaw-dropping spectacles. Discover more.
